Lorenzo Homecoming Court 2018
Max De Hoyos: All Around Hornet
Max De Hoyos has done it all at Lorenzo High School. TAFE, NHS, All-District Basketball, All-Region Football, District Track Champ. But now De Hoyos has a chance to be something he’s never been: Homecoming King.
De Hoyos is one of three Senior boys nominated for the 2018 Homecoming Honor, and since he’s been at LISD since Pre-K, he understands the significance of his final year.
“It’s kind of sad because I won’t be able to play sports anymore,” De Hoyos said. “And its going by so fast.”
Max also participates in Cross Country and Ag. In fact, his favorite class is Welding. After graduation, De Hoyos plans to join the Navy.
Max believes the belief that Area 51 has aliens is one of the biggest conspiracies in the world. He would also like a chance to marry Jennifer Lopez.
If he were the actual King, De Hoyos would fix all the bad things in the world.
Julianna Guel: Senior Honor Student
Julianna Guel is a candidate for Homecoming Queen but already has accomplished a lot at LHS. As a member of NHS and the Yearbook Staff, she also plays basketball and runs Cross Country and Track.
Julianna started Pre-K in Lorenzo but left during 1st and 2nd Grade. She returned in 3rd grade and has never left. She says Mr. Davis’ Construction class is her favorite this year.
Like classmate Max, Guel thinks aliens landing in Roswell is a Hoax. She plans to become a Mechanical Engineer after college, and would like the opportunity to marry Noah Centineo (or David.)
“I have realized that Senior year is going by fast compared to my other high school year,” Guel said. “And if I were an actual Queen, I would buy every McDonalds.”
Adrian Alcala: From a Family of Hornets
Adrian Alcala comes from a long line of Lorenzo Hornets. Not only did his Mom and Aunts attend LHS, Alcala has been here since Pre-K. As a Senior, he is involved in Ag, Welding, and Construction. Small Gas Engines is his favorite class.
Alcala’s Senior year is going fast, and his plan of going to Welding School is coming after graduation.
“If I were King of the World I would work on balancing the economy of the world,” he said.
He believes the biggest conspiracy theory in the world is that the disaster of 9/11 was an inside job. And if he could marry anyone in the world it would be Tomb Raider actress, Angelina Jolie.
Graciela Lopez Caballero: Cheerleader/Actress
Gracie Caballero is from a long line of Hornets and is making the most of her Senior Year at LHS. Caballero’s parents both graduated from Lorenzo, as well as other family members.
Caballero is a LHS Cheerleader and has joined the Theatre Department to be in the One Act play. She is also a member of TAFE and the National Honor Society. Gracie has previously participated in basketball, track, and Cross Country. She keeps busy with her dual credit classes.
Theatre is Gracie’s favorite class. After graduation, she plans to live life to the fullest.
“Being a Senior feels the same to me,” she said. “I just have the feeling of wanting to grad
If Caballero becomes an actual Queen, she wants to buy all the Raisin Caines in the world. She believes the mystery surrounding the JFK assassination is the world’s biggest conspiracy theory, and she would love to marry Bruno Mars.
Carlitos Lopez: Gunning for Meagan
As a leader on the Football team and a returning varsity starter on the basketball team, Carlitos Lopez has been in the public spotlight. But now he guns for royalty as he joins the nominees for Homecoming King.
Lopez follows his dad as a Lorenzo Hornet. Being here since Pre-K, he admits that his senior year is kind of sad because he know he won’t play sports after this year.
Lopez dreams of marrying Meagan Fox, and plans to go to school to be an auto repairman.
Carlitos participates in football, basketball, track, ag, and UIL. He identifies Ag as his favorite class.
Lopez doesn’t buy the theory that aliens built the pyramids, and said if he was King he would bring more restaurants to Lorenzo.
Adriana Quintana: Head Cheerleader has Big Dreams
Adrianna Quintana has not only gone to Lorenzo ISD since Pre-K, both of her parents graduated as Hornets. As one of the most popular students in LHS, it’s no surprise that she’s a candidate for 2018 Homecoming Queen.
Nana is active in track, cross country, basketball, the National Honor Society, and TAFE. In addition to all that, she’s the Captain of the Cheer squad.
Nana has loved all her years at LHS but said her Senior year is going great.
“I have a lot more homework because I have mainly all college classes,” Quintana said. “But it feels great knowing i won’t have to run anymore.
Quintana plans to go to Texas Tech University to become an Industrial Engineer. Her favorite class is math, and she would love to marry Shawn Mendes.
Nana believes NASA faking the moon landing is the biggest conspiracy theory in the world, and has big plans if she ever becomes Queen of the world.
“I would build an amazing cafeteria in the castle that is open to the public, and we would feed the homeless."

Homecoming 2018
Adrianna Quintana and Max De Hoyos were named Homecoming Queen and King before a large crowd, minutes before the Hornets took the field against Southland.
The ceremony lasted longer than the game, as lightning halted the action 4:00 minutes into the contest. The Hornets and Eagles were tied at 6-6.
